Armenia in Political Views of Theodore Roosevelt
Summary
The 26th President of the USA T. Roosevelt (1858-1919) during his rule (in 1901-1909) and the rest of his life time and again referred to the terrible plight of the Armenias in the Ottoman Empire. From the outset of the World War I and the Armenian Genocide he demanded from the U.S. Administration that his country urgently engage in the fights against Turkey. In his letter to the Secretary of the American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief S.T.Dutton (of November 24, 1915, January 20, 1916) and to the Chairman of the Armenian Relief Committee C.H.Dodge (dated May 11, 1918) T.Roosevelt sternly condemned the abominable atrocities of the Young Turks and sharply blamed the neutrality and procrastination policy, practiced by the President W.Wilson. //-45
