Summary

An In An attempt to better formulate the field of Armenian Historiography and related issues four Armenian historiographers were asked to answer the following questions: a) What are the mission and objectives of Armenian historiography? B) What are the i) the main areas, ii) characteristics,  iii) gaps of Armenian historiography? C) What are the main technological and scientific challenges of modern Armenian historiography (cooperation, methodology, language, sources, funding, generational gap…), D) Where does Armenian historiography stand on the international map of historiography?

This paper is a compilation of the answers given by Drs. Gayane Makhmourian, Simon Payaslian, Vahram Shemmasian, and Khachatur Stephanian.

This is the third series of questions being published in every second book of the “Haygazian Armenologic Review.” The questions of the previous years revolved around issues related to Armenian Studies. //-20
